What Is Skyweaver? A Look Into This Win-to-Earn Trading Card Game on Polygon

July 20, 2022

Skyweaver is a win-to-earn Trading Card Game built on Polygon. Its open beta is currently free to play, and it’s available on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.

Learn more about Skyweaver and why you might want to try this blockchain game soon.

Skyweaver is a win-to-earn game

Unlike other games such as Crazy Defense Heroes, which offer “play-to-earn” (P2E) mechanics, Skyweaver presents a unique “win-to-earn” principle. In typical P2E games, you can just gain tokens and exchange them for other cryptos without necessarily being a top player.

You see, usually with other P2E games, winning a few battles and also losing many can still earn you rewards. With Skyweaver, however, you can only profit from the game if you rank in the top 250 for Ranked Discovery mode or Ranked Constructed mode.

Now, this should be an interesting reward mechanism if a blockchain game wants to be sustainable. It can entice players to achieve game mastery.

What enticing rewards can I get in playing Skyweaver?

Aside from fun and fulfillment in winning battles, this Trading Card Game (TCG) rewards players according to their skill and commitment to the game. If you stay long enough and take time to master the game to up your winning rate at 50%, then you can potentially gather more gold cards.

More gold cards mean more money, especially as you sell those cards.

If you rank in the leaderboard (the top 250), you can get a set number of silver and gold cards. Gold cards, by the way, are minted as soon as you win them.

You can keep these minted gold cards and use them for succeeding battles, or you can sell them on the marketplace. If you want more gold cards as quickly as possible, you can buy from other players in the same marketplace.

However, if you want to keep your expenses at a minimum, you can just master your way to winning Skyweaver battles. Then, you should be able to gain more and more gold cards.

To put things in perspective, let’s say you’re an average player. If you have a 60% win rate, you can get 1 gold card per hour. At the time of writing, you can buy a gold card for as low as 3.23 USDC or as high as 20.83 USDC.

Skyweaver is a AAA blockchain game

In fact, it’s one of the very first triple-A titles to join the play-to-earn space. Like mainstream AAA games, Skyweaver gives players a high-quality video game experience. Developed by Horizon Blockchain Games, this title has grown slowly but steadily and satisfactorily since 2019. After raising $3.75 million in funding, Skyweaver’s private beta was finally released in 2021.

This year 2022, Skyweaver has launched its open beta. That means you now have the chance to play the game for free. You can connect your Sequence or Metamask wallet with it.

Where can I start playing Skyweaver?

The most straightforward way to start playing Skyweaver is to go to play.skyweaver.net and create an account. You can choose to link your Google, Apple, or Facebook accounts or simply set up your email to log in. You can also download the game via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Again, the game is in a free-to-play open beta mode and you don’t have to invest in anything to start playing the game.
