Want to join the TOWER Game Jam at The Sandbox? If you know Crazy Defense Heroes, then you know the TOWER franchise and the TOWER token. If you’ve been hopping on metaverses, then you must have explored The Sandbox. This TOWER Game Jam promo began on July 25, 2022, and will end on August 14, 2022, at 3 pm UTC. That’s also the deadline for you to submit your entry. Now, you still have time to create an entry!
Create a tower defense game at The Sandbox
Yes, that’s your goal. Inspired by the Crazy Defense Heroes (CDH) play-to-earn game, you need to create your own tower defense game using The Sandbox Game Maker software. If your game plays great, then you got a chance to win!
TOWER Game Jam prizes
Since this is a TOWER franchise x The Sandbox mashup, the prize pool is a combination of $SAND tokens and Crazy Defense Heroes-inspired PFP (profile picture) NFTs called “The Crazos.”
- 1st place: 6,000 $SAND + 4x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
- 2nd place: 3,500 $SAND + 3x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
- 3rd place: 2,000 $SAND + 2x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
- 4th to 10th place: each receives 500 $SAND + 1x “The Crazos” PFP NFT

Dates you need to watch out for
Again, this promo began on July 25. You still have time to develop the game in roughly two weeks and submit your entry on or before August 14th, 2022, at 3 pm UTC.
The team will then vote among the submissions from August 15th till September 4th. Yes, it takes time because they need to experience the games the participants have created at The Sandbox.
And then, when everything’s finalized, the team will announce the winners on September 11.
Guidelines for a valid TOWER Defense Game Jam entry
As I mentioned above, you need to create your tower defense game using The Sandbox’s Game Maker software. You may include original assets that you yourself have created. Your game also needs to be playable. That means it would help if you’d add quests and missions for players to fulfill.
If you had created a The Sandbox experience before, your entry for this special TOWER x The Sandbox Game Jam needs to be different. You may get inspiration from your previous creation, but your entry into this promo needs to be unique.
To filter entries, The Sandbox x TOWER collab team also emphasized that you can’t just spam the submissions with low-quality experiences. You may even be disqualified.
Both The Sandbox’s and TOWER’s staff members will judge the entries, so make sure to please both worlds.
By the way, here are the more detailed guidelines for each entry:
- The game length needs to be at least 5 minutes. This excludes timed and collection quests.
- You need to use at least 25 different assets.
- Follow the theme. Your game should be a tower defense experience, much like the game Crazy Defense Heroes.
- Only entries created after the start date (July 25) are acceptable. If you’ve built some for previous game jams, you can’t submit them here.
Where to submit for the TOWER Defense x The Sandbox Game Jam
Submit your TOWER Defense experience in both the Game Jam gallery at The Sandbox and in this Google form. If you miss one of either, your entry won’t be considered.
