Tiny Colony, a pixelated blockchain-based metaverse, is launching its game characters on Fractal this April 28, 3 pm PST. Previously, the game dev team had a successful “Colony” minting on the same NFT marketplace.
Powered by Solana, Tiny Colony is also set to release its major gameplay modes in the second half of 2022. Interested blockchain gamers may bet early on Tiny Colony NFTs if they plan to maximize the ecosystem’s play and earn feature.
Getting Whitelist Tokens for Tiny Colony Character NFT Mint
Tiny Colony fans may secure whitelist (WL) tokens so they can mint Character NFTs at a 25% discount (1.5 SOL) on the April mint date. Without these special access tokens, anyone interested might mint a Character NFT at 2 SOL.
Weeks before the Character NFT mint, the Tiny Colony team is already giving away whitelist spots to interested NFT collectors. Those who’ve already minted “Ant Colonies” or lands and have held on to them will get an airdrop of WL tokens. They’ll be getting a specific number of tokens depending on the type of colonies they’ve got.
- Nest: 1 WL Token
- Samurai Lands: 2 WL Tokens
- Persian Empire: 2 WL Tokens
- Vikings Mountains: 2 WL Tokens
- Scientist Outposts: 3 WL Tokens
- Sorcerers Hideout: 3 WL Tokens
- Spirit Hotspots: 5 WL Tokens
Those who do not own “Ant Colonies” or a Tiny OG have another shot at getting a WL token. The Tiny Colony team is holding a Whitelist Promotion via Gleam. Anyone who completes all requirements will receive 2 WL tokens. They will even be entered into the drawing for a chance to win a rare Character NFT.
What is Tiny Colony?
Tiny Colony is a pixelated game ecosystem built on the Solana blockchain. It offers a free-to-play game model, which means you don’t need to buy any NFT to experience the game.
Of course, you may also choose to purchase NFTs so you could receive governance perks and earn rewards. Aside from being F2P, Tiny Colony will also develop its game to offer play-to-earn (P2E) opportunities.
In Tiny Colony, the word “tiny” appropriately describes the ant citizens of the Tinyverse—the game’s metaverse. Meanwhile, “Colony” refers to the ecosystem’s lands. These are basically “ant colonies,” and, according to the game’s underlying story, these colonies need protection from dark forces.
Presenting itself as the first-ever Construction and Management Simulation Blockchain Game, Tiny Colony also offers its players the experience of building and enhancing their Ant Colonies.
The game offers a native token called TinyBits ($TINY), which users can use to purchase NFTs. Meanwhile, you may also upgrade your existing NFTs with the in-game token TeenyBits ($TEENY). You earn $TEENY when you run an efficient colony.
Tiny Colony Character NFTs
Want to mint some Tiny Colony Character NFTs? You’ll get a randomized character with a specific rarity when you participate in the minting. You can pick from any of the following nine (9) factions.
- Creatures
- Nobles
- Elders
- Heroes
- Persians
- Samurai
- Vikings
- Scientists
- Sorcerers
Each of the above types of characters has a set of properties, fighting skills, and upgradability. Owners may also enhance them with other in-game NFTs, such as powers and weapons. These upgrades would help the characters win in game modes such as Battle Arena, Tiny Wars, and Gladiator Wars.
Tiny Colony: Metaverse Development Plans
While game modes such as Gladiator Wars, Battle Arena, and Tiny Wars are not launching until Q3 and Q4 of 2022, Tiny Colony has already drawn much attention. One possible reason is that it builds on Solana, a blockchain that remained the top choice of many games such as Star Atlas.
With Solana, the devs at Tiny Colony are able to add game features using a programming language they’re already very familiar with, i.e., C++. This allows them to fast-track game development for the sake of eager players.
In 2023 and beyond, Tiny Colony is also set to launch its anime series. Interestingly, the anime will feature events of the Tinyverse, starting from its backstory.
