It’s forgivable if you don’t know Lunacia. That’s why we made this article for you!
But it is completely inexcusable if you don’t know Axie Infinity. This play-to-earn NFT metaverse game has blown up like crazy in the past few months. Right now, in many countries, many people are making a steady income just from playing Axie Infinity.
If you don’t know how Axie Infinity works, it’s quite simple. We wrote a pretty in-depth guide about it here, but on the surface it’s a metaverse and NFT game built on Ethereum.
Basically, you buy, breed, and pit monsters against each other to win in-game tokens. These monsters, each of which is NFTs, are called Axies. And you need three of them to begin playing.
Like we mentioned earlier, this game has exploded since it was first created. You could say that the pandemic was the year of the Axie. People were home and bored and Axie Infinity presented an opportunity to have fun and make some side income. Naturally, everyone wanted in and so the game went parabolic.
Now, getting an axie is pretty expensive. The cheapest sells for about $200, while the most expensive one was sold for 300 Ether in 2020. At the time, that translated to $130,000 in fiat.
Now that you understand what Axie Infinity is about, we can talk about Lunacia.
Lunacia is one of the most anticipated Axie Infinity releases of 2022. The creators have not said when exactly this game will be launched. However, from the project’s whitepaper, we should be looking at the second half of 2022.
So, what is the Lunacia SDK?
Basically, Lunacia is a map editor that will enable players to create their own games and other kinds of experiences using Axie Infinity art assets. After creating with Lunacia, the game you make will be saved as an NFT, which you can then trade.
All games created using Lunacia will also be hosted on land. So, every player in the Axie Infinity metaverse will be able to check them out, see how they like them, and try them out if they want.
The team states in its whitepaper that user-generated content (of which Lunacia is one) would be a way for players to win some AXS. So, game developers and creators will be entitled to some revenue from their games hosted on Axie Infinity land.
This presents a great way for developers to earn some income by participating in the Axie Infinity metaverse.
Now, it’s not quite clear right now just how much developers will be able to earn for their efforts.
However, Axie Infinity has been tearing through the market, heading toward a valuation of a billion dollars before the end of 2021. In fact, at the time of writing, 1 AXS sells for about $131. So, developers are very likely going to make a decent side income through Axie Infinity’s Lunacia initiative.
The idea for Lunacia is truly revolutionary. The Axie Infinity team is leveraging the power of user-generated content to build a gaming metaverse that will own the market in a short time.
As the team explains in its whitepaper, as the Axie Infinity community grows, one team alone will not be sufficient to create all the content that will keep users happy and engaged. This is where user-generated content comes in.
User-generated content is especially powerful because of its potential to scale an idea to unprecedented levels. And the NFT gaming community is keeping its eyes peeled to see how Axie Infinity pulls Lunacia off.
2022 sure is shaping up to look really good for Axie Infinity already.
